What is Empires?
The Rise and Fall of Private Empires is a new contemporary dance work exploring the stranger and darker sides of some of our habits. We all live in worlds of our own, building them around ourselves with actions and objects. You can help us build our own versions of these mini Empires, before we set them in motion and publicly bring them tumbling down.
Who is involved?
Choreographed by Jess Quaid and performed as a stand-alone show Empires will be brought to life by a talented group of freelance dancers; aided and abetted by experts in sound, design, photography and lighting.
What are you paying for?
The development of this work has been funded by the choreographer, but that won’t be much use if the audience can’t see the dancing. So we’ll be spending the money from this project on lighting and sound equipment, costumes and props, and putting what remains towards hiring the performance venue.
