THIRD PERSON: Present and Tense is a new black romantic comedy by Stephen Papps to be performed at The Basement Studio from October 16 - 27.

An actor wakes to find himself on the set of a theatre confronted by an audience, expecting a show! He has a hangover; a head-injury and amnesia. He’s also very disturbed to find the prone body of a girl on the stage: He can’t remember her and he can’t wake her. Then the phone rings . . .

Join our man as he tries to piece together the events of the previous night - only to take a wrong turn down memory lane and find himself up the garden path.

This is the Premier of a new work by Stephen Papps - a low budget, transportable theatre show for two actors. Stephen is a highly experienced and well regarded New Zealand actor and theatre practitioner. This is the second play he has written and starred in – the first being, the very successful, “Blowing It”, a one man show about an under-cover cop. “Blowing It” had a five year life span, where it played everywhere from England, Ireland, Berlin, Adelaide, The Gold coast, Edinburgh festival, The Sydney Opera house and toured extensively throughout New Zealand to rave reviews.

Mark Clare is directing, Stephen Papps and Lizzie Tollemache are featuring. We need $5000 for theatre hire, staging and promotion. Anything above and beyond this will mean that the actors get paid something!

We really appreciate any contribution you make. Thankyou
