Stranger In My Own Hometown Album Funding

Project 2015-06-09 11:51:54 +1200

We have a great album almost ready to go, but need your help in getting it over the line. Myself and The Working Poor have recorded 11 songs with drummer and producer Wayne Bell. The album's called Stranger In My Own Hometown - it's the best thing we've ever done and you can listen to the first track from the album here.

We need your help to finish the record which we hope to have out by the end of June - yes this month! The money raised will go towards mastering, mixing, touring and promotion. And we're not asking for charity - pledge and you get some fantastic rewards - pre-release download of tracks, cds, signed lyric sheets, gig entry and more. We hope to raise a lot more than the target and appreciate any pledge - you can pledge as little as $5 dollars we appreciate it all.

Thanks so much!

Greg Fleming

Corporate Hill

Hi,

I'm getting all the cds etc to send out to pledgers this week, thanks everyone. As promised here's one of the lead songs off the new record - Corporate Hill - I wrote it last year but it's as relevant today (Greece/IMF, state housing sell-off here in NZ, TPPA) as ever. You guys are the first outside of the band to hear it, let me know what you think. The (private) link is below

https://soundcloud.com/gregfleming/corporate-hill/s-rJvtk

Any questions/feedback etc re pledges email me on [email protected] . The album itself will be released late next month, and maybe even on cd!

Once again thanks - hope to catch up with you all at a show sometime. All those whose pledged earned them entry to the Sept 5th show - your name plus one will be on the door list.

Cheers

Greg

Thank you

We got there. Thanks so much everyone who pledged. I should get the address and email details of you all from PledgeMe mid- next week and will then start sending out the cds and lyric sheets. And of course all of you will get access to the new record before anyone else - via a download code. We will now finish the mastering and are looking at a release next month.
Thanks again... your support is truly appreciated! And the best way to follow what we're up to is on Facebook or at www.gregfleming.co.nz

Hi,

thank you all for pledging. We're almost there, just 3 days to go and only $200 left to reach our target.

Great so far

Thanks so much those who have pledged. I won't bore you with a screed about how the bottom has fallen out of the music industry - it has (and if you're an independent artist in NZ it was never really there in the first place).
Stranger In My Own Hometown has been in the making over the last year we just need a little help getting it over the line.
If you're a fan of this page you'll know that The Working Poor (pictured) are one of the best rock'n'roll bands in town, any town. So if you like music by Dr John, Drive By Truckers, Lou Reed, Wilco, Springsteen, Nick Cave, or Jason Isbell - you get the drift - you may want to hear this record and - hopefully - you'll want to help us finish it. We're almost a third of the way there and every pledge $20 and above has a great reward associated with it.Thanks so much!
