Get HMB Overseas Fighters To Battle At Taupo Medieval Faire 2015

Help make this special - help get more HMB combat at Taupo Medieval Faire in March 2015. Want to see what HMB is all about? Historical Medieval Battle (HMB) is always great to watch. Click here to see HMB fighters Charlie T (NZ) versus Derek S (Aus) [Thanks to WACL for the video use] Historical Medieval Battle combat is the closest to authentic Medieval tourney foot combat you could see.
There are NZ knights keen to come to smash it up with the foreign opponents - veritably chomping at the bit to smash it up with them! There are overseas fighters chomping at the bit too, eager to travel and take up the challenge - on-field at Taupo Medieval Faire. But there is an irritating fly in the ointment - a less-than-shoestring budget. We are running an $80,000 event on a $2,000 budget. Whilst we appreciate the effort, skill and energy that all the NZ participant are putting in, it would be awesome to mix in some foreign competition. We'd be thrilled see some 5 v. 5 HMB combat, it would be like being at the sidelines of an actual battle! (Click here to see 4 v. 4 HMB combat (Thanks to WACL for the video)
How can you be involved? Make a pledge to get an international fighter to the Taupo Faire in March. Then make sure you are there to watch! Each international fighter needs at least $500 to travel, but they are well worth the investment! Every Pledge makes a difference and more pledges will attract more overseas fighters. If our target is exceeded, that will mean more overseas fighters can travel - meaning more HMB fights!
The place and the time are all set, HMB NZ fighters will be there, ready to go. You could help! A little nudge of encouragement to those who are thinking but haven't yet decided to pledge. If you are an HMB fighter in NZ, a small pledge could open up your chance to combat with an international at Taupo Medieval Faire. If you are just looking as a member of the public, a pledge could offer you a most memorable weekend of Medieval entertainment. Either way, that is a winwin situation. Please make a commitment - your money will only be committed if the project achieves target - and all monies raised (minus the Pledge Me commission) go to the traveling knights. Baldaquin Inc. is organising the Faire & this fundraiser, monies go to the travelers!

Obe of the splendid overseas combatants has generously offered a reward! He will dance with the fair maiden who claims it. He modestly says he is better on the field of combat than he is a dancer, but will endeavour to put his best foot forward for a courtly piece! Thank you, Paul Smith!
Siege Artillery at Taupo Medieval Faire 2015!

Murray Hill has generously offered a reward. Take him up on the offer to have a go on the siege artillery range at Taupo Medieval Faire 2015 and fire a trebuchet! Wowser fun, and you gain a day pass to the Faire to see what else is happening too, traders, Living History encampment, combat ... other have-a-go activities.
Please note: Trebuchet at the 2015 Faire may differ to the ones on the video - the event site is not so big!
