Popup Arcade For Cuba Dupa

Project 2015-02-24 12:39:30 +1300

Projector + Building + Games = #nextlevel

Popup Arcade is a day and night spectacular showcasing some of Wellington's creative game based projects at the Cuba Dupa Festival on the 28th and 29th March 2015. By day, we will show off some cool toys and games we’ve been working on, and start signing people up for the tournament. By night, a massive four player Mario Kart tournament for the championship of Wellington, and some other goodies yet to be announced, running from 8pm dark to midnight.

We are begging and borrowing to make this happen. We know you will love massive games on buildings just as much as us. We need your support for tents, banners, stage construction, power and AV gear. Every little thing it takes to make something like this happen. We’ve spent hours meeting and planning with the festival organisers and our supporters and we are ready to go! There's no turning back now.

We need a minimum of $500 to get started. We are asking for up to $1500 to organise our gear and team to deliver a fully professional event. Anything over this will be setting us up for future events and hardware costs.

Demo Setup for Tornament

This Demo shows a four player stand with backboards and a large projector mount, with electronics housed in a van. There will also be couches and tables for some ipad demos and a home made arcade tent.

Lots of people remember Mario Kart 64 fondly. It was the game that brought the whole family together, even the ones that didn't really enjoy games. They were in it for the win. We don't think this should be a one time thing either. Your support will prepare us to take this further after proving our concept and process. Expect much more from us in the future.
