Traditional Voyage From Aotearoa To Rarotonga!!

Help us get our Youth Crew from our Traditional Voyaging Waka Te Matau-A-Maui . We are looking to get Ruiha off on the next open Ocean Voyage to Rarotonga at the beginning of May. Ruiha Bryant-Toi is 18 years old! She has been involved with Te Matau A Maui for a year. She began coming to crew training, Rangatahi Wananga (Youth programmes) and has been crew on Coastal Voyages around Hawkes Bay. 2014 saw Ruiha do her first Open Ocean Voyage over 1200 Nautical Miles across the Tasman to Sydney, Australia.
Ruiha has gained a lot of experience in the last year and now has a hunger and passion for Voyaging as our Ancestors did. She believes being in the Open Ocean gives her strength and serenity.
For the future, Ruiha wants the message of our Waka Te Matau A Maui to be spread wider in the Kahungunu region and Aotearoa so others her age can experience the great Mana that she does when voyaging
