Triple Angle Designs
We are a collective of three students from Wellington Institute of Technology (WelTec) majoring in Interior Design and require funding for two community based projects. One of our core papers requires us to select a real life project to manage from inception to completion at a professional level. The main focus of the paper is gift exchange, requiring us to utilize our creative skills to propose, design and construct a project to benefit others free of monetary payment.
Project One - Travelling Booth
We propose to design and create a travelling booth for the Hutt City Community that can be re-used and repurposed for community events and groups. We would like to gift the booth to the Hutt City Community Arts upon completion to lend the booth to community groups that have a project requiring a kiosk, stall, headquarters etc. We have selected neutral materials for the exterior cladding of the booth, allowing each community group to decorate the booth to suit the ideal aesthetic of their project. We will decorate the booth for its debut at the New Zealand Fringe Festival in Lower Hutt next summer 2015 to provide the first example of the booth to use for advertising thereafter. Please view the updates folder then click on pages two + three to see precedent information and imagery of the Travelling Booth design concepts.
Project Two - Performance Space: See-k Speak
We are collaborating with a few of our class mates (designers and artists) from Weltec and the performance team from the Baggage Co-op to enter a performance space in the Hutt City for the New Zealand Fringe Festival next year (Feb/March 2015). The space will offer us (art and design students from WelTec) a place to exhibit our work offering the general public the opportunity to observe and potentially purchase one off pieces and or commission us to create personalized pieces. The space will be active throughout the week leading up to the Fringe in the Hutt with performances from members of the Baggage Arts Cooperative showcasing – acting, poetry rap, storytelling, music etc. Please view the updates folder then click on page two to see precedent information for the performance space - more updates to come!
Funding
In full we need to raise $2400 to cover the material costs for the travelling booth and decorative elements for the performance space. We have already raised $1500 towards the project through generous support from the Pelours Trust, Fairy Godmother and WelTec. We need to raise a further $1000 (includes Pledge me fees and material costs for rewards) to help make our projects a reality – so PLEDGE US TODAY!
Rewards
We have put together a creative list of rewards to thank those generous individuals/groups that donate to help make our projects come to life. We have the support and expertise of other creative students from WelTec + performers from our Fringe event who have kindly offered their time and energy to create some fantastic rewards – CHECK THEM OUT!
Please look in the updates folder on pages one and two for imagery of rewards and previous student work by the artists and photographers that have donated their time to put together the rewards for you!
