New single for Indie Rock n' Roll band Faster Pussycat Kill Kill.
We have just returned from a 9 month tour of Europe touring our last record and writing new material for the new album. We need a little help from our friends to go to Roundhead Studios in Auckland to record our cool new single!Faster Pussycat Kill Kill are Chloe Langley and Reuben Collins and have been touring their brand of Rock/Pop all around NZ and Europe since 2008.
About the Band
Whiskey-swilling, guitar-slinging, break-your-heart rock'n'rollers Faster Pussycat Kill Kill are a Rock'n'Roll 2 piece currently based in Auckland. FPKK deliver a fast and loud live show filled with songs about high school dropouts, reckless delinquents, fast cars and love gone wrong.
Hailing from the wind-swept streets of Wellington, New Zealand's capital city, Faster Pussycat Kill Kill formed in 2008. With a girl/boy harmony dynamic, quick wit and faster hands, these kitties are more like an explosion than a white stripe. Shaking up an original spin on dirty pop, they spread the rock'n'roll gospel, with one hand whipping up mayhem and the other making you a cup of tea afterwards.
Originally inspired by the swinging sounds of the 60’s and the naughty dregs of society. Faster Pussycat Kill Kill are influenced by such greats as Brian Setzer, Tom Waits, The Sonics and Wanda Jackson. Modern influences include The Hives and The Kills.
FPKK's brand of surf'a'billy rock'n'roll has proved a favourite around New Zealand with four nation-wide tours. Support gigs have included Tokyo Motors (U.S), Labretta Suede (NZ) and The Motel 6 (U.S), plus kiwi greats, The Hasselhoff Experiment and Artisan Guns. Faster Pussycat Kill Kill have produced two albums, Get a Little Closer in 2009 and Kissypow in 2010.
Two singles were released, one from each album, and have had wide-spread radio support. Current single Vanity has a video produced by an all-star Weta Workshops production crew. A Red Bull Studios live session, recorded in January 2011, has rotation on New Zealand's Juice TV.
