Introduction
The LED Butterflies are the most innovative, ambitious and exciting development from Highly Flammable this year. The LED Butterflies, commissioned by Highly Flammable and designed by Rohana Weaver are the next big project since the incredible success of "Mirrorman". Mirrorman was also designed and created by Rohana Weaver which gives us a glimpse of what to expect!
The Butterflies have been designed but not physically created yet...
What are the LED Butterflies?!
The LED Stilt Butterflies are a pair of Stilt Walking costumes with giant wings and LED lights incorporated into them. This means they will be fantastic during the day and spectacular at night!
A pair of these costumes along with the Highly Flammable talent and ground personel will be available for hire for events nationally.
What is Highly Flammable?
Highly Flammable - "The Spark for Every Occasion"
Highly Flammable is a creative entertainment company that specialises in creating atmosphere and excitement at events using performances and concepts involving human-basedFire, Pyrotechnics, Stilt Walking, Character and Costume. The company turns two July 2012!
Managing Director Logan Elliott describes Highly Flammable Ltd as "Bringing a unique mix of theatre, dance, promotions, film, design and events management to present and create human performance concepts that are accessible and available to a range of events big and small; rather than just at the movies or in a theme park overseas".
Highly Flammable has offices in Dunedin and Wellington but are available nationally and internationally. In the past the wide range of events have included Formals, Weddings, Sporting, Corporate, Private, Community and Music Events.
Why Pledge Me?
As Highly Flammable is still an early stage developing business, the project is not viable due to the cost of materials and designer/creator fees being $3500. But with the support from people, through Pledge Me, this project becomes possible!
"It is an extremely exciting opportunity as it gives Highly Flammable a boost to be able to continue to develop, innovate and offer something new and extraordinary" says Logan Elliott.
In addition it is a great way to support a developing up and coming artist; Rohana Weaver who will be physically building the concepts over the next two months. Rohana Weaver has a Fine Arts Degree in Sculpture and has worked on various projects with Highly Flammable including the incredible 'Mirrorman'.
Our aim is to raise $2000, which via Pledge Me covers the artist fee component of the LED Stilt Butterlies, Highly Flammable will cover the rest itself (materials).
