OUR PROJECT:

Anna, Dani, Emma. We are Muted Crane Productions; a trio of emerging dance makers forging our way into the choreographic landscape with 'The ‘I’ Test'. This dance theatre work is to be premiered in the New Zealand Fringe Festival at BATS theatre AND we have also been accepted into the Dunedin Fringe Festival! We need your help to get our cast of 5 awesome dancers down there, safely housed and fed!

We have received partial funding from Dunedin Fringe towards flights, but need funds to pay for our technician, the Dunedin Fringe fee, theatre hire, printing of posters and flyers, petrol, food and accommodation expenses for our 5 cast members while staying in Dunedin.

The 'I' Test 1

WHO ARE WE?

As Wellington-based freelance contemporary dancers, we have worked with many and myriad projects and companies, such as Footnote Dance, Java Dance Company, Rifleman Productions, Bipeds Productions, Kowhiti Dance Festival and the World of Wearableart Awards Show.

As a company we were recently lucky enough to be given a Toi Pōneke Arts Centre Pilot Dance Residency, sharing the space with Java Dance Company and Bipeds Productions whilst working on the initial development for ‘The ‘I’ Test’.

MORE ABOUT THE SHOW:

The ‘I’ Test

I see everything so clearly now.

Allow your perspective to be shattered. We create a world of ice, sweat and tears… then let it melt to nothing. Everything in this show could be wrong.

The work reveals five dancers weaving threads of raw physicality through a fabric of original sound and spatial design. Stacked ice panels sculpt the space, melting, abandoned, washed clean. You will be taken through a constant flux of questioning and absorption. Be a sponge.
