We would like some of your money, please...

I COULD LIVE HERE * BATS THEATRE * FEBRUARY 12 - 16

Hitch a ride as friends, trapped in a van navigate small town NZ. What happens when everything has been said; when politeness goes out the window and all they have left is a confused GPS, probing lolly wrappers and a schedule to keep?

As a cast we spent three years training together at Toi Whakaari. After graduation we were employed by the same touring theatre company, performing to high schools around New Zealand. We thought we knew each other well…During the three months together we couldn't really converse with the usual questions of “How's your day been?”, so out of necessity (and for our own sanity) other questions and conversations emerged: Curious moments were prompted by talk back radio and icebreaker questions from a bag of lollies; We discovered new and entertaining ways to irritate each other; In-jokes were formed;  Alliances were made one day, and broken the next. And between all the games and sing-alongs there was silence, sometimes comfortable and sometimes that tense, passive aggressive silence that only someone in a long-term relationship could understand. This show is inspired by these moments on tour.

We are seeking funding of $1100.00 to assist with production costs. Check out our facebook page for more details!

Devised and performed by Andrew Paterson, Ria Simmons and Carrie Green for the New Zealand Fringe Festival.

YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!

10/02/2014 at 8:48 AM

Thank you so, so much for helping us reach our Pledge. We raised $50 beyond our requested amount - how awesome is that?

We'd like to include your names in the programme. If you're an anonymous pledger and would like your name included OR if you're hiding from the cops and would NOT like your name included OR if you'd like to go by some other name (I P Freely?) then give us a buzz on [email protected] and we'll sort you out.

Once details are finialised we'll organise your rewards. The mix tapes seemed to do well!

Again, thanks for your help - hope we see you at the show!

Carrie, Ria, Andrew, Simon, Tim, Holly, Phil & Matt

The end is nigh!

5 more days!

02/02/2014 at 11:32 PM

We only have $500 more to go in 5 days! Now's the time to donate if you haven't already and tell your friends if you already have (tell them how good it made you feel on the inside...)

We open in 10 sleeps! Don't forget to book your tickets here http://bats.co.nz/shows/I-Could-Live-Here/

Here's our newest video update :) Enjoy!

Wow!

01/02/2014 at 12:51 PM

We're already well on our way to meeting our goal. Thanks so much for your support, guys! Once the Pledge has gone through we'll be sending out your rewards (the CDs seem popular...).

Rehearsals are going... well, they're going. Check out the video for an update.

Again, thanks for being so generous and awesome. Don't forget to share with your friends!
