Collab Project with Loading Docs

LOADING DOCS is a trailblazing new initiative co-funded by The New Zealand Film Commission and NZ On Air, and managed by production company Notable Pictures to fund, create and distribute innovative New Zealand documentary shorts.

The goal of our campaign is to complete our 3 minute documentary about WAYNE

We need to raise $2000 for post production by the end of February , so our story can be a part of the new Loading Docs initiative, to create and distribute 10 x 3-minute New Zealand documentary shorts.

By donating to our project , you are supporting us to tell Wayne’s story of home.

Please click on a reward of your choice to make a donation and follow us to  share our Pledge me campaign with your friends and community.

If we are lucky enough to raise more than the $2000 we need, we will put it towards a much larger story on Wayne and his community.

'WAYNE'

Wayne a 44 year old man with an intellectual disability, his whole life he has had difficulty living with people, as a child with his family and now as an adult within the supported community he now lives in.

Having to live with others has always been fraught with conflict and aggression. 3 months ago he was finally given an opportunity to live by himself.

His new home has removed him from the daily conflict of living with others,  historically Wayne has had difficulty communicationg with others and at times caused conflict,  the stories are endless of his disruptive behaviour.

Our film picks him up when most of this has dropped away.  He still stuggles with socialising and getting on with others,  but is trying hard and has come a long way from the Wayne who entered the Trust 17 years ago.

He is a compelling, charismatic character, we see the delights  and intricacies of Wayne’s world . He’s an extremely likeable man, he's industrious and finds solace in making his trolleys and tables, these are his pride and joy.

We watch as Wayne reaches out for positive contact in relationships and ultimately romance, in what may be an attempt at fighting his habitual behaviour. It's through his individual story we get a glimpse into his community.

WAYNE Completed

28/05/2014 at 4:42 PM

To all our Pledge Me followers;
WAYNE and 9 other Loading Docs films are all now up online - and out in the world!

Please share the Vimeo link to WAYNE https://vimeo.com/95934094 - on facebook, twitter, email and any other way you wish! This will ensure that WAYNE gets out to as big an audience as possible, and your hard earnt donation dollars go even further.
It is important to share and spread the word about the film as quickly as possible to build momentum quickly and get it seen by as many people as possible. Your assistance with this is much appreciated! If you have a Vimeo account, please LIKE the film too, and if you don't have a vimeo account, I would recommend getting one anyway - Vimeo is full of fantastic content and is a great online community. Vimeo likes are really important - get enough and our film will be featured on the Vimeo homepage or in one of its many channels - which in turn will help broaden our audience.
We are very proud of WAYNE. The whole Loading Docs process has been invaluable to us as we launch Bella Pacific Media into the world of documentary making company.
Thank you again for your support.
This short tale of love and ingenuity really wouldn't have been possible without you - so be proud of that fact and share the film with as many people as you can!
