Ki Ora. I’m Ahmed, this is Simon (sup), Cameron (How’s it going!) and Hamish (oh are we meant to say what we would say if it was like a live show or something…I cant think of anything…Nah just say I said like ..hey…no.. say hi, hey is dumb…nah give it back simon that’s mine…I shotgunned that piece bro…)

We are a group of 20 – 21 year old mates from Onehunga, Auckland who live a typical student/burger-flipping lifestyle. We wake up, we contribute little to nothing to society then go to sleep and repeat. We decided we were a little sick of our mundane routine and wanted to shake things up, while contributing something positive to the community that we have all grown up in. This meant it was time for an adventure, a change of scene.

We are going to embark on a week long boys vs. nature journey, which will hopefully turn us into men.
We plan to walk from A to B or Auckland (starting at the base of the skytower) to Taupo in the one week that we all got off work with no assistance from the outside world.

With only the bare essentials for survival, a camera, a ukulele and the power of friendship, we hope to turn this journey into a fundraising goldmine for Prostate Cancer. It is time for us to do our part and give back to the our fellow males that are less fortunate than us (touch wood).
Oh…Sorry... what’s that random member of the public? What’s so snazzy about a walk you say?

Well here are the rules..

1. Once we leave Auckland we may not buy or be given food /drink of any kind. We must hunt and fend for ourselves/ration out what we carry with us.

 2. We are not allowed to accept rides, hitchhike. We must travel by walking or by using scooter/skateboards if we choose to buy them with our budget. If one of us manages to tame a wild horse they may ride it off into the sunset granted they dont die. We have played enough buckaroo to understand how really not good of an idea that is.

 3. We are not allowed tents. We must build shelters of our own. If one person builds a hard out cool shelter then he may allow the other lads to stay under the condition they pay "rent" rent could be considered food, water, luxury items or favors.... ... ...... ......  .... moving on..

 4. Daily challenges will voted for via online polls from the public and must be completed by the chosen one. NO EXCEPTIONS. Daily challenges will be filmed.

 5. We may only take a phone for emergency use, candy crush and to communicate with our social media HQ in Auckland to be told of the daily challenges you want us to complete and who you want to complete them.

 6. We will be allowed to take one luxury item each and a budget of 100$ to spend on whatever we please the day before we leave. We are not allowed to carry anything else of assistance not included in our budget eg flashlight. matches, scissors, water pistols, mini orange juice bottles, nightmares or …our heads high….

 7. We must walk a minimum of 42.125km (a full marathon) and complete all challenges each day before going to bed

8. Each lad must grow a mo during the trip. If a lad cannot grow a sufficient mo he must shave off his ..um ... big boy hair and cellotape it to his face.

On a serious note.

I know stuff like this is hard to fully grasp unless it happens to you or someone you know personally but prostate cancer is the most common cancer in New Zealand men and is the third largest cause of male cancer deaths in New Zealand. Each year around 2,500 new cases are diagnosed in New Zealand and close to 600 New Zealand men die of the disease every year. Despite these figures, the level of awareness, understanding and support for prostate cancer lags significantly behind that of women’s health causes.

  • Around 2,500 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer each year, a figure similar to the number of women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer
  • One in thirteen men will be diagnosed by age 75
  • Around two men die from prostate cancer each day in New Zealand
  • Around 86% of all men diagnosed will be alive five years after diagnosis

We cant do this alone. We need you to help in anyway you can.

As an individual you can

1. Donate money to the great cause and sit back and watch our adventure unfold.
2. If you cant donate $$ that’s cool . Only donate if you can. But what you can do instead is spread the word of our adventure to others and tell them to do the same in a passive aggressive tone of voice….
3. If you can do both then keep an eye on your karma bank account balance buddy because its about to rise..

as a top Business you can.

1. Donate and in return we will give your business exposure by
 - Wearing your company apparel
- Name dropping your company in the media
- Product placement -Changing our name’s to the top 4 donating companies so we may only refer to each other as the top four supporting business’s
- Create a flag of your company logo and proudly place it in the ground along the way

We all breathe the same air. and walk the same land.

At the end of the day no matter what your beginnings

we all want to be happy, healthy and fulfilled.

If you have the opportunity and ability to help others

taking that opportunity it is one of the most satisfying feelings that exsit, I promise.

-happiness is only real when shared.

Peace & Color :)
