CHEETAH Reintroduction
Project 2013-11-05 02:10:00 +1300
I am a Veterinary Nurse at Humanimals Veterinary Clinic in Dunedin, I am fundraising to help with the fees to spend time volunteering with Cheetah in South Africa.
My flights are booked and paid for as are my university fees. The bank won't loan anymore so let's see if I can do this for the Cheetahs!
The money that is kindly donated will be put towards the fees charged to spend 2 weeks with PoD. All fees paid by visiting volunteers make up the only funding that PoD receives for their Cheetah project. Thus not only will your donations be sending PoD a hard worker for 2 weeks, you will also be funding the project directly!
I am currently studying the Certificate Program in Canine Physical Rehabilitation through The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and am required to partake in presence days of which I could choose to attend in South Africa, Spain or the UK. South Africa was an easy choice as I figured this country would have so much opportunities to take whilst there. Ever since I graduated as a Veterinary nurse in 2006 I have dreamt of working with Cheetah!
By volunteering I will be contributing to saving the future of the cheetah. My hard work will enable the project to make improvements to the reserve and cheetah enclosures. Volunteers record data about the cheetahs which allows a profile to be made up for each cheetah and means their health and condition is closely monitored. Volunteers also allow the project to progress with its reintroduction project, which is the first of its kind. It aims to see cheetahs back in their natural habitat.
Your support will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you Krystle Kelly
