Project 2013-09-20 23:30:01 +1200

"5 Steps to better work life balance: Does anyone have the answer? Is it not ridiculous that we are striving for our idea of what our perfect life would be? In constantly trying to be the best, we often lose sight of what is actually most important on the way. (Insert Life Here) is a half improvised, half devised night of Dance and Drama and all things wonderful. Coming to Gundry Street on November 28th!"

Seekers Dance Collective is formed from the graduating 2012 class of UNITEC's Contemporary Dances program in Auckland. After performing for many different dance platforms this year, this is what we would like our first full length, original work to be, all with your help!

Seekers Dance Collective members in this project are - Mikayla Thomas, Jeremy Haxton, Grace Woollett, Phoebe Heyhoe (Creative Director) and Kerry Wallis (Producer). On board with this project we have; Actor - Amanda Tito (Acting graduate, Unitec - 2012) and Frankie Sampson (Dance Graduate, New Zealand School of Dance -2012) with special guest Choreographers - Lydia Zanetti and Georgia Giesen.

As we are all dancers and performers it is not possible to be able to hire rehearsal spaces and get the venue to a level that is show-worthy without some help along the way. We would also like to include some payment that can guarantee us as performers being able to take the time to put on an incredible show and experience for everybody!! We love creating, we love performing and it would be an honour to be able to put on our first Seekers Show to a level that we are the most happy with and knowing that the audience will walk away from an unbelievable dance experience.

We are asking for $1000 to cover dance rehearsal spaces, and venue hire for the show and $1500 to cover small payment cost of the dancers and being able to make the venue into something special and an audience experience.

Also, if you were to have any old couches, lamps, picture frames, chairs, cushions, blankets, tea cups, mirrors, coffee tables or carpets they don't want any more and would like to donate to Seekers Dance Collective for this performance that would be greatly appreciated as well!
