About

Kaitiaki

Project 2013-08-15 19:50:39 +1200

Kaitiaki is an interactive theatre experience aimed at empowering and facilitating young people to make decisions collectively. The show will be performed at the Newtown Community and Cultural Centre theatre in Wellington. A visual spectacle of song, dance and puppetry, Kaitiaki is a promenade theatre piece that introduces the audience to an array of characters and challenges to be overcome. The audience’s investment in the show will impact the conclusion of the story, highlighting to young people that the decisions they make can have tangible consequences. While the themes of Kaitiaki are very real and challenging, the audience can expect an engaging pastiche of performative mediums, culminating in an accessible, sometimes hilarious and ultimately entertaining exploration of accountability and the impact we have on our environment.

Hank of THread Collective will use funds pledged to pay for hall hire and materials for set and costume in order to realise our vision to it's fullest potential. We strive to produce work of a high production quality in order to immerse our audience in the world we are creating.
