Paramedicine Scholarship
Project 2013-07-06 05:21:38 +1200
About:
This fundraising project is for the next nzparamedic.org Tertiary Paramedicine Starter Pack! This is a scholarship containing $1000 towards course fees for a Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedicine), $1000 towards text books and a Littman stethoscope. Any high school student intending on studying paramedicine at a university or polytechnic in 2014 is eligible to apply. The starter pack will be advertised on the nzparamedic.org website once the funding target has been met.
A scholarship can change someone's life. The last Tertiary Paramedicine Starter Pack was awarded to Jake Robinson, a St John Youth member and high school leaver. Follow this link to read Jake's story! http://www.healthworkforce.govt.nz/health-careers/career-stories/paramedicine
Why support this project?:
There are currently very few scholarships available for high school graduates to become paramedics in NZ. Paramedics deliver pre-hospital emergency care and advanced life support, as well as assessing and treating patients with minor injuries and illnesses in the community. University education ensures paramedics are well equipped to deliver care in demanding environments.
About us:
nzparamedic.org is a charitable organisation established in 2011 to support paramedic tertiary education, research and career development in New Zealand.
A key goal of nzparamedic.org is to promote paramedicine as a credible health career. The Trust offers a number of paramedicine scholarships and grants for both high school graduates and working paramedics, as advertised on the nzparamedic.org website at www.nzparamedic.org. We rely heavily on charitable donations. Assist us in reaching our fundraising goal to help a deserving young person become a paramedic!
