Kia Ora!

My name is Vanessa de Silva, the director of 'Unspoken Bravery'. This WW2 short film is being made for my final fourth year film project for my bachelor of Fine Arts degree at University of Canterbury. We need your support to help our team complete this ambitious film to the professional standard it deserves.

What  is this film about?

This story is a psychological thriller between two men in a life raft and their fight for survival after their aircraft was shot down in the Pacific Theatre in 1942. Left for days with out food and water, both men begin to lose all hope of being found. The story takes you through an emotional and action packed performance from our talented actors. A key element in this story is the strong relationship that develops between these two characters in the raft and learning to work together to overcome challenges the sea throughs at them along the way. When both men are knocking at deaths door, something miraculously happens.

Our team:

We're a small film crew of talented individuals, cast with star quality and with a good track record. I have a great and strong crew working alongside me including professionals and fellow film students, and have also teamed up with a talented compossor.

Whats interesting about this film?

We have the amazing opportunity of filming inside a real aircraft, The Lock Head Hudson, used by the Royal New Zealand Air Force in WW2. We are also re-creating a plane crash scene which is very difficult to do with such a limited budget but, with the support from all the pledgers, you will be providing work & experience for local actors and film makers to achieve our goals and affordably gain powerful production quality.

We need your support!

I am looking for crowd funding to help make this ambitious film happen. Can you help us achieve this goal?

With kiwi ingenuity and a lot of passion and heart we are well on our way. We need your support to complete this ambitious film to the professional standard that it deserves. We are asking for $600.00 to help us with mainly all production costs such as; props, costumes, fuel and transport costs to location, cover material costs, art department costs, feeding cast and crew, which add up very fast.

When we need the funding:

We begin filming from 4th July 2013 through to end of August 2013, where we then go into post production which will be at the end of September. I also aim to enter it in selected New Zealand and International Film Festivals in 2014.

This film will be screened in the Cinemas in Christchurch at the end of the year along with my fellow film makers at University of Canterbury.

Thank you and Reward!

Thank you for taking the time to read my pledge,  I would appreciate any donation you can contribute to help this film become a huge success. There are some wonderful awards to say thank you for your kind contribution. Have a look to the right of this screen.

Have a great day!
