Sam Goes To Turkey

Hello! I'm Sam Blood. I found myself becoming involved with the issue of climate change six months ago, and since then I've become the Auckland Campaign Coordinator for NZ youth climate change organisation Generation Zero, and have been chosen to represent them as well as representing Auckland City in Istanbul, Turkey at a conference called Global Power Shift! Five hundred climate leaders from around the world are meeting there to discuss the strategy for the movement and up-skill with various workshops and speakers. And I've been invited to be part of it!

I've also been accepted into the Climate Reality Project, to be trained in Istanbul two weeks beforehand by ex-Vice President Al Gore at presenting and communicating on the issue of climate change.

My flight leaves in two weeks and I'm still $600 short of what I need to fly over and stay alive over there, but with a bit of pocket money from everyone, I can! Without having to resort to becoming a thief on the streets of Istanbul, living in a makeshift hut constructed from my luggage. This is an unimaginable opportunity and I feel so lucky to be given this chance. Please, help me do it justice! With your help (even just $5 or whatever you can manage) I can give New Zealand a voice in the global discussions on our climate.

Also, I will like you forever. And possibly give you Turkish Delight on my return.
