Project 2019-10-04 13:01:45 +1300
Roimata Food Commons is flourishing and champing at the bit to step up a level or 2...for this we need to make our project managers role paid and as close to full time as possible. We need crowdfunding to hold this position for 6 to 12 months, then leverage the success to pull in private sector support or develop financial sustainability. We want to move away from being dependent on public sector funding. We are calling this role Kaitiaki @ Roimata Food Commons...and will hold the vision for wellbeing for the neighbourhood ecosystem :)
A little more about the role... The Kaitiaki is the vision holder for Roimata Food Commons. Alongside being responsible for the operational management, planning, maintenance, and oversight of the garden site, and volunteers for the program, the Kaitiaki should be a strong advocate and representative of the community. As the vision for Roimata Commons Trust grows, so too should the role of Kaitiaki. They must have a passion for growing people, food and the health of the ecosystem. Having demonstrable gardening skills, the ability to work well with and manage others, and a commitment to contribute to the food commons mission and growth. They will work with and report to the Board of Roimata Commons Trust on garden operation tasks, planning, engagement, and decisions. The Kaitiaki must be capable of performing physical work in the garden, as well as a range of administrative tasks including event management, social media.
