About

A New Take On The Undead

Project 2012-02-01 07:32:53 +1300

A Party For Me is a 5-minute short film that was shot in Wellington over Waitangi weekend. The film was written and directed by Amy Brosnahan, and is being produced by Eclipse Entertainment. The majority of our crew are either Film Students or recent Film Graduates from Victoria University.

The story is brilliant: it takes the zombie genre and introduces an unusual twist that most people don't see coming. It is a highly ambitious project. You know that adage 'never work with children or animals'? This project involves child actors, a cat, night shooting, period costumes, and all on no-budget. We have a dedicated cast and crew who are working on this film for no pay simply because we believe the film has to be seen!

We want this film to be the best that it can be, and we need help! We need funds for make-up and wardrobe, who created the look for our nine undead characters, and to cover the costs of hiring gear for the shoot. We are seeking $150 towards make-up/wardrobe, and $100 for the equipment.

In exchange for pledges, we will be offering (incrementally)

  • signed photos of the actors
  • a copy of the film on DVD
  • a personal thank-you card from the film's director
  • a batch of homemade biscuits from the film's production team
  • a thank-you credit
Thank you for your support.

A Post-production update

13/06/2012 at 9:47 PM

Hi all,

Thanks for reading. Just to let you know where we're at with the film:

The film has been edited by Nils Lindemann and Amy Brosnahan. The rough cut is looking pretty amazing. So amazing in fact that Amy and I have decided to enter the film into a couple of film festivals and competitions. We have a film to be proud of here, and we want to share it. We couldn't have made it without our wonderful cast, amazing crew, and support from family, friends, and Pledgers.

Jed Friel is doing the sound design for the film. Jed was our Production Manager. He also studied at MAINZ. We are fortunate to use his skills.

The music is being written by our composer, Gemma Peacocke. Gemma is based in Vienna; the post-production is quite international, with our Producer (me) moving to London a week after the shoot.

We are currently working on the credits, and have arranged a few test screenings.

Once the film has been completed, we will be having a premiere screening for cast, crew, and supporters in Wellington.

Again, thank you so very much for your support. We really truly do appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Patricia Hetherington
Producer, A Party For Me

Thank you all so much for donating! We are ecstatic. Please note that further donations are welcome: it will help us to cover the costs of catering for our cast and crew, and hiring lenses.
Again, Thank you. Thank you, thank you.

Sincerely,

Patricia and Amy

Rough cut

Thanks for the pledges. We have a rough cut, and it is looking (if I do say so myself) rather amazing

We also have a draft screening date (that's a date that is to be confirmed, not a date to screen a draft film). That's a few days after the PledgeMe fundraiser finishes. We'd love to be able to announce at the screening that we raised these funds. So please, share this with your friends and donate. We really do appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Patricia and Amy
