Help Tat Up Cycle Get To The Spring Festival

Project 2016-09-10 17:39:33 +1200

 Who we are:

Tat Up Cycle is a social enterprise created to support and up-skill people from the ‘Recovery’ community. We’re based on Te Atatu Peninsula (hence the name). By diverting waste from landfill we support the wellbeing of Papatuanuku, and in turn we support the wellbeing of members in our community recovering from addiction by offering work experience with an environmental focus. We support Auckland Council’s aspiration for zero-waste by 2040.

What is Up Cycling? We take inorganic waste such as heat-treated wood from pallets, steel cast-offs, mirrors, glass, corrugated iron and plastics (usually bound for land fill), and create new products such as: planter boxes, garden furniture, office tables.

What are we looking to do?

Te Atatu has an annual Spring Festival and Tat Up-cycle has the opportunity to create installations of our special products throughout the village. We would love to spread our vision of using waste in useful ways - But we need your help to do this!

We are looking for support to create a massive display of our wonderful, environmentally friendly products, in order to raise awareness of our fledgling project and help us to create a sustainable enterprise.
