Service With A Smile - We Go The Extra Mile

Project 2015-09-27 20:44:33 +1300

We are looking for funding for business promotion and streamlining our Door to Door bus service.

Catch-a-Bus South is based in Invercargill.

Although the business has been around for over 20 years, my husband bought this as a going concern 4 years ago.

Although the business has been around for a long time, there seems to be quite a few people who haven’t heard of us and don’t know what we do.

We carry passengers from Invercargill to Dunedin and Bluff on a daily basis and from Invercargill to Queenstown (and Bluff) 6 days a week.

When Peter bought this business, it ran once a day, six days a week between Invercargill and Dunedin and Bluff as required.

We have added a second run Monday to Friday and a Saturday run on the Dunedin route.

Last year we started a Queenstown weekend run.  This is designed for people to go to Queenstown after work on Friday – spend two whole days in and around Queenstown and come home Sunday evening.

Earlier this year, we added a Wednesday afternoon/evening run and once we bought 2 new vans, added an earlier run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

The earlier runs to Queenstown and Dunedin return in time to catch the Ferry in Bluff for those who want to visit Stewart Island.

We are currently having an online booking system built, however to streamline the service, we would like to build a driver side to the booking system which needs 4G tablets for the drivers to use to access their pickup and drop off lists of passengers and to be able to organise the order in which they do this.

To ensure that we are able to provide the best possible service, we do need to carry more passengers and this is where the need for funding comes in.  Without more people, we may not be able to continue to supply the level of service we do at present and if we can build the numbers, we may be able to extend the service further.

Rewards include scenic t-shirts, discount vouchers, concession cards and advertising on our website.

We have updated our rewards - if everyone who looks at our project was to pledge $10.00 and share with their friends, who did the same, it really wouldn't be difficult to get to our target.  We would really love to have you on board with us.  Suppor us supporting Southland and Otago
