Hi, our names are Fynn McClintock and Troy Sutton, and we're rollerskating the length of New Zealand to raise money for Ronald McDonald House starting in January 2016.
At the end of July 2015 we were having a discussion about what we're going to do next year once we finish school, and we both decided that we wanted to travel. Seeing as there are many places in New Zealand neither of us have visited before, the born adventurers that we are decided that a cross country adventure was on the cards. There was only one issue; we're poor students.
Rollerskating is obviously the most environmentally friendly and economical way to travel in the 21st Century, so understandably we decided upon this. With only ourselves to prove, we also decided that we'd try and raise some money along the way, more specifically for the folks at Ronald McDonald house.
For this campaign we're just looking to raise $2000 dollars, which will be to cover transport, food, and emergency accomodation if we need it (we're staying in tents). We will be flying from Nelson to the Far North, and from there bussing to Cape Reinga. We'll also be putting some of that towards catching the Cook Strait Ferry from Wellington to Picton. Any excess money that is given to us will be donated back to Ronald McDonald House at the conclusion of our trip.
We've both seen first hand the great work that this amazing charity does for Kiwi kids, and would love for the rest of New Zealand to get on board with this great cause.
