Waitakere Festival 2014
Project 2014-09-16 14:20:03 +1200
This year’s Waitakere Festival is scheduled for Sunday 2 November at Corban Estate Arts Centre in Henderson, but it’s getting harder each year to bring you this awesome free day out, and this year we are short of at least $6000 to cover the essential costs of putting on the Festival. If we can raise $6000 from our supporters, we will be able to go ahead with the Festival and provide a spectacular start to the summer season.
If we can raise the funds we need, at Waitakere Festival 2014 you’ll be able to enjoy:
-
An eclectic and talented lineup of great NZ musical acts across the main stage and community stage including Ophelia, Sal Valentine & the Babyshakes, Ha the Unclear, Arthur Ahbez, Mice on Stilts, Emily Edrosa, and more!
- A vibrant marketplace including vintage and upcycled fashion, art, quirky collectables, artisan food products and more.
-
Trying your hands at a bunch of activities, including sewing a flag onto the 'Love the West' themed bunting with Keep Waitakere Beautiful and Sew Love Tea Do, and upcycling waste wood with Funk up my Junk.
-
Meeting the people who make West Auckland so great by pouring their time and energy into grassroots initiatives, from martial arts demonstrations by an ex royal marine commando from the Laingholm Enshin Karate Dojo, to the surf Lifesavers.
-
Food to die for - some of Auckland’s most revered food carts and pop-up vendors will be at the Festival.
If we can raise $10,000, we won’t have to cut any corners. We’ll be able to deliver the best Waitakere Festival yet with more performances, workshops and activities!
Even $5 or $10 is a big help and lots of small donations added together = one fantastic people-powered Festival. And if you pledge at least $5 you’ll get a sweet reward!

New reward!
14/10/2014 at 10:00 AM
We just added a new reward to the Waitakere Festival Pledgeme campaign. For just $250 you can sponsor a Community Stage band. The MC will announce that the band is brought to the Festival by you when they take the stage, and invite the audience to thank you with a huge round of applause. We'll promote your band sponsorship in our event listings, website and social media in the lead-up to the Festival.
