STOP::Go - A Short Documentary

Collab Project with Loading Docs

LOADING DOCS is a trailblazing new initiative co-funded by The New Zealand Film Commission and NZ On Air, and managed by production company Notable Pictures to fund, create and distribute innovative New Zealand documentary shorts.

WATCH THE TRAILER HERE: www.stopgo.loadingdocs.net

Stop/Go is an intimate look at the humble kiwi road contractor and the epic environment that he gets to work in everyday.

While the majority of us spend our 9-5 in an urban office environment, the stop/go sign is the gateway to a side of our country few pause to appreciate. In this documentary, we experience the splendour of our great outdoors like never before; through the eyes of a blue collared kiwi working to maintain and expand our national highways. Ever been stuck in road works? Just know that these guys are working on the roads to keep us safe!

Be it in scorching sunlight or sideways snowfall - these unsung heroes gain an insight into our home, New Zealand, that many of us never will. Until now. Meet Bernie:

The road worker around whom our documentary revolves is called Bernie Nolan. Bernie and his wife Debbie currently work on site in Tekapo, and are veterans of the job. They are humbled that their story is being told. We want to do Bernie and the wider traffic management industry justice; documenting his life and occupation in the best possible way.

Our doco is designed for online consumption and beyond: it's 3 minutes long, and will cater to a wide audience. We're going to make it an easy to watch insight into road working. When it's online, we'll be sure to let you know, so you can check it out!

What we need from you:

Part of the deal with Loading Docs (www.loadingdocs.net) is that we need to raise an additional NZ$2000 (at least) to finish telling Bernie's story. We want to do the humble kiwi road worker's story justice, but we need your help!
