Help us to bring the magic of Hot Tub Cinema to New Zealand this Summer! 

We have been running Hot Tub Cinema in London since the beginning of 2012. We are a unique Cinema screening with a difference, the audience are in Hot Tubs!  Tickets for the first show sold-out, and they’ve been doing the same ever since. In less than twelve months Hot Tub Cinema has become one of the most talked about events in the UK, with media interest spanning the globe, even reaching the New Zealand Herald and the Waikato Times!

In that time we’ve screened well-loved films on the rooftops and in the parks of London, all enjoyed from a lovely warm tub. We’ve screened everything from Pulp Fiction to Anchorman, and helped launch new release Hollywood films and independent shorts.

With more than 50 shows under our belt we’ve decided we’re ready to share our unique brand of fun, social, splashy cinema with the world, and there’s only one place to start… Aotearoa! Imagine relaxing in a 40 degree hot tub, surrounded by mates, glass of bubbly in hand and your favourite movie playing on the big screen. In the background… gorgeous NZ scenery, a lake, a beach, the sound of cicadas. You get the idea.

That’s a Hot Tub Cinema Kiwi Summer.

To give all Kiwis the best chance of experiencing our unique event, for our New Zealand run of shows we plan to tour five locations this coming December and January. These will likely be chosen from:

Auckland Wellington, Gisborne, Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Whangamata, Whitianga, Taupo, Dunedin, Christchurch and Queenstown.

We plan to do 5 nights of shows in each location.

All pledges (over $50) represent a guaranteed ticket to one of our NZ shows.

The unique nature of Hot Tub Cinema means that we do have high running costs. On top of the costs of running the event (venue, power, water, film licensing, transport, security, projection, sound, lights, hot tubs, etc), we have to work 24 hours a day to ensure every hot tub is emptied, cleaned, refilled and reheated so they are sparkling clean and toasty warm in time for the next night of shows.

As such we need to raise a minimum of $50,000 to make this a reality.
