HI PLEDGEME!
I'm Daniel McBride, 19 years of age, and in September this year I've got a European tour booked for my solo project, Sheep,Dog&Wolf, with a prestigious German booking company; The Konzertbuero Hugsam. This is an incredible opportunity for a young New Zealand musician, but international tours are expensive, and even with my life savings and earnings from my music and job, I don't yet have enough money to cover the costs...
I need your help!
THE MUSIC
Sheep,Dog&Wolf is the moniker under which I create and release music. At 17 I released, online, a little EP called Ablutophobia. I recorded it all in my bedroom over 9 months, playing all the instruments, singing all the parts, and doing all the mixing myself.
This EP saw S,D&W featured in Italian Vogue, included in the Guardian UK Music Blog's 'MAP: The Best New Music from Around the World' feature, and even have the title track of the EP reach the Number 1 spot on the German radio station M94.5FM.
Listen to the EP here: http://sheepdogandwolf.com/
THE TOUR
Now I'm about to release my debut album, Egospect, also recorded and mixed by myself in my bedroom, through Lil' Chief Records. I've been working on it non-stop for months and months, and in support of this album I have been offered a European tour booked by the Konzertbuero Hugsam; a very selective Hamburg-based touring company who have worked with such big names as Sigur Ros, Antony and the Johnsons, Cocorosie, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and many more.
The tour will encompass much of Western Europe including Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, The Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and beyond. To be given such an offer at just 19 is a massive opportunity not to be missed!
THE BUDGET
The thing is, European tours cost a lot of money, and this tour is going to cost me roughly $24,000.
I've put together my life savings, my earnings from my EP, and the money I've made at my job, and with all that I've got enough to buy flights to Europe for me and my live bandmate, Eddie Crawshaw, and to ensure that we survive while we're over there.
With shows booked, all I need now is the money required for instrument and van hire, and that's where you, the patrons of PledgeMe, come in. I can get over there, but I need your help to get from show to show and to hire the instruments I need to play those shows!
For this purpose, I will be asking PledgeMe patrons for a minimum of $8000, although the more the better (the better the instruments that is!)
$5000 of this will go towards the rental and usage costs of the tour van, and the rest towards hiring and freighting my instruments.
REWARDS!
SHARE IT AROUND
Once you've pledged (or even if you can't), make sure you spread the word and share this project around! Also, remember to 'like' Sheep,Dog&Wolf on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/SheepDogWolf) for all tour- and album-related updates (and to help with NZ on Air funding!)
Thank you so much, without you guys I don't know what I'd do!

ADVANCE-LISTENING REWARDS: INSTRUCTIONS AND DISCLAIMER
By choosing any one of the 'Advance Listening' options as your reward, you agree not to, by any means, download and/or distribute these tracks.
Feel free to play them to your friends at your house, but if I find any of these tracks up for download without my express permission these streams will immediately be taken down. I will have a complete list of people who have access to these streams, so it would not be difficult to find out who the culprit is. Please, just don't be a douchebag yeah?
Anyway, this album will be released as a free digital download, so you wouldn't be helping anyone, you'd just be hurting me.
If you've chosen a pre-release stream of a track/tracks from Egospect as your reward, here's how you go about getting access to your private stream:
Note: make sure you don't select 'pledge anonymously' if you have chosen one of these rewards!
1. Wait up to a couple of days (sorry about this, but I only get an updated list of Pledgers' emails every 2 days.)
2. Once I've got your email address, I will send you an email to confirm that you have read and understood the disclaimer (above.)
3. Upon receiving your (hopefully affirmative) reply, I will give your email address (and your email address only) access to the private stream. Enjoy!
The distribution of all other rewards will be agreed upon between myself and the pledger if/when this project reaches its target funds.

New video for Glare!
10/04/2014 at 11:38 AM
Hey everybody!
Just thought I'd let you all know that I've just released the video for my latest single from Egospect; Glare.
The video almost killed us - we spent 10 days camping out in the Australian desert to film it, and I think that Thunderlips and Candlelit Pictures have done an absoltely incredible job with it.
There's no way I could've got the funding for this video without the profile that this PledgeMe campaign and the resulting tour garnered, so once again - thank you so much, I am so grateful!
Give it a watch at the link included, and if you like it why not share it around?
All the best,
Daniel
Free Tickets to the Critics' Choice Show!
29/10/2013 at 3:35 AM
Hey everybody,
Sheep, Dog & Wolf is one of the finalists for the Critics' Choice Prize as part of the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards, so I've been given a whole lot of free tickets to the announcement/show night at the Kings' Arms in Auckland on November 6th.
SDW and the other two finalists (Paquin and Janine & the Mixtape) will all be playing sets, and afterwards the judges will deliberate and announce the winner. Should be a great night!
So, seeing as you all so generously contributed towards the European tour, I thought I would offer any Auckland based pledgers first pick of the free tickets. If any of you would like to come, please contact me at [email protected]. I need all names by this Thursday, and it's first come first serve - tickets are limited so be quick!
Thanks so much,
Daniel
Album release + Europe-bound

Hello awesome Pledgers!
I'm just emailing to let you all know that tomorrow is the day - I board my plane for Europe, along with my amazing touring drummer Eddie Crawshaw, just before 6pm tomorrow evening, and just under 48 hours later we'll be landing in Hamburg, ready to play 20 shows in 28 days. It's going to be an intense but incredible experience.
I can't thank you all enough for your help, it means so much to me that you've all pitched in to make this happen. Without all of your help, I wouldn't be able to make the most of this wonderful opportunity, so thank you thank you thank you!
If you'd like to keep up with how I'm going I'll be adding a blog section to my website (http://sheepdogandwolf.com/) dedicated to the tour, which I'll try to update when I can - I'll be very busy so I can't guarantee regular posting, but I'll do my best.
And, last but not least, just over a week ago I released my first full-length album, Egospect, through Lil Chief Records! You can download it for free/pay-what-you-like, or buy in physical form as a cd/vinyl from my website (http://download.sheepdogandwolf.com/).
Once again, thank you so so much for all of your help!

The target has been reached!
Thank you so, so much everybody, your support means so much to me.
This means that I am officially touring Europe! And a good thing too - I already have heaps of shows booked, including supporting brilliant Icelandic band Mùm, playing a Womad-esque festival on a tiny Dutch island called Vlieland, and even making a stop in the Czech Republic in Prague!
Pledges will be subtracted from your accounts within the next couple of days, so make sure you keep enough in your accounts - but don't worry, if the payments bounce PledgeMe will let you know and work it out with you.
The response to this campaign has been MINDBLOWING and so, so heartwarming. Once again, thank you all so much, without you guys I wouldn't be able to embark to the most exciting journey of my life!

(Rewards will be organised in the next wee while, I'm still attempting to work out the Advance Listening streams with Soundcloud. I will keep you all updated!)
Soundcloud Issues Continue
30/06/2013 at 3:11 AM
The website that I'm using to host the private streams, Souncloud, continues to cause issues. A whole lot of you have contacted me saying that, despite having created Soundcloud accounts, you still can't get access to the tracks.
I'm currently trying to work the issues out with Soundcloud, and I hope I'll be able to get those tracks working for you soon!
In the mean time, make sure you share the project around; tell your friends, family, anyone who'll listen!
There's 3 days and only $400 left to go, we can do this! (And remember: I only get the money IF the target is reached)
Thank you all so much for pledging, I really do appreciate it!
You need to pledge to see this update.
Keep up that momentum!

Hey everybody!
The response to the PledgeMe campaign in the first week and a bit has been amazing - almost $6000 pledged in under 10 days. Insane! You pledgers are incredible, and I can't believe how generous you've been.
But now the campaign is starting to lose momentum a bit, and that momentum is super important (I only get all the money that's been pledged so far IF I reach the target!)
It's up to you guys to keep that momentum going. Share the campaign around, tell your friends, your parents, that guy you met at Lil' B on Wednesday, everybody!
Once again, I really, really appreciate your support, it's been so heartwarming. Thank you so, so much!
